Who We Are
Kognition ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered business analytics service built for UAE-based SMEs. We operate under the trade name Kognition, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Our contact email is hub@kognition.cloud.
This Privacy Policy applies to all clients, visitors, and users of our service at kognition.cloud and our WhatsApp communications channel.
What Data We Access
To deliver our analytics service, we access the following categories of information:
- Business operational data — daily sales figures, order counts, revenue totals, food cost percentages, and item-level sales data that you upload to your Google Drive folder
- Contact information — your business name, WhatsApp phone number, and email address provided during onboarding
- Website usage data — standard analytics such as pages visited and time on site, collected anonymously via Simple Analytics (no cookies, no personal tracking)
- WhatsApp communications — messages sent and received through our WhatsApp business channel for support and alert delivery
We do not collect: passwords, payment card details, personal identification numbers, customer data belonging to your clients, or any data beyond what is necessary to provide the analytics service.
How Your Data Is Stored
The only data we store on our own systems:
- Your client configuration (business name, WhatsApp number, plan type) — stored in encrypted form on Railway.app cloud infrastructure
- Anomaly detection logs (aggregated flags, not raw data) — retained for 90 days and used to improve alert accuracy
- WhatsApp message delivery records — retained by Twilio for 30 days per their standard policy
Why We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively for the following purposes:
- Calculating your business KPIs and detecting anomalies in your performance data
- Generating and delivering your daily WhatsApp morning brief and end-of-day digest
- Producing your monthly AI business report PDF
- Generating your weekly revenue forecast (Growth and Pro plans)
- Providing support when you contact us via WhatsApp or email
- Sending service-related communications (plan changes, system alerts)
We will never use your data for advertising, profiling, benchmarking against other clients, or any purpose beyond delivering the service you have subscribed to.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party. We use the following sub-processors to deliver our service:
- Google LLC — Google Drive API for data ingestion (your data, your account)
- Microsoft Corporation — Power BI Service for dashboard hosting (your data, your account)
- Twilio Inc. — WhatsApp message delivery
- Railway Technologies Inc. — Cloud infrastructure for our scheduler
- Anthropic PBC — Claude AI API for natural language report writing (Pro and Growth plans; data is not retained by Anthropic per their API terms)
Each sub-processor is bound by data processing agreements. We select only providers with strong privacy track records and, where possible, with data residency options compatible with UAE operations.
UAE Legal Compliance
We operate in compliance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and applicable implementing regulations. As a data controller and processor operating in the UAE, we:
- Process personal data only on the basis of legitimate interest or contractual necessity
- Maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures
- Do not transfer personal data outside the UAE without appropriate safeguards
- Respond to data subject requests within the timeframes required by law
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about your business
- Correction — ask us to correct any inaccurate information
- Deletion — request deletion of all your data; we will action this within 14 days
- Revocation — remove Kognition's access to your Google Drive at any time by unsharing the folder
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format on request
- Objection — object to any specific processing activity

Data Retention
We retain your client configuration and contact information for the duration of your subscription and for 30 days after cancellation, to allow for reactivation if requested.
Upon written request for full deletion, all Kognition-held data related to your account will be permanently deleted within 14 days. Your data in your own Google Drive and Power BI accounts is entirely under your control and unaffected by cancellation.
Security
We implement the following measures to protect your data:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher
- API credentials are stored as encrypted environment variables, never in code
- Access to production systems is restricted to Kognition founders only
- Google Drive access is read-only and can be revoked by you at any time
- We do not store raw business data on Kognition servers at any point
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via WhatsApp at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client") and Kognition ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Kognition analytics platform and all related services.
By subscribing to Kognition, booking a demo, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
The Service
Kognition provides AI-powered business analytics services for UAE SMEs, including:
- Live Power BI dashboards connected to your business data
- Automated daily WhatsApp morning briefs (7:00 AM) and end-of-day digests (6:00 PM)
- AI anomaly detection and real-time WhatsApp alerts
- Monthly business intelligence reports (PDF)
- Revenue forecasting with UAE holiday awareness (Growth and Pro plans)
- Natural language Q&A assistant on WhatsApp (Pro plan)
- Weekly AI strategic briefing (Pro plan)
The specific features available to you depend on your subscription plan (Starter, Growth, or Pro) as detailed at kognition.cloud/#pricing.
Subscription & Payment
Plans and pricing:
- Starter — AED 499/month
- Growth — AED 799/month
- Pro — AED 1,399/month
Subscriptions are billed monthly. Payment is due at the start of each billing period. We accept bank transfer and approved payment methods as communicated during onboarding.
No setup fees. There is no charge to configure your dashboard, connect your data, or onboard your account.
No contracts. All plans are month-to-month. You are never locked in.
Late payment: Services may be paused if payment is not received within 7 days of the due date. We will notify you via WhatsApp before any suspension.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time by sending a WhatsApp message to +971 52 557 4159 or emailing hub@kognition.cloud. No forms, no call required.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to receive full service until that date. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months.
Upon cancellation:
- Your dashboard access will be deactivated
- WhatsApp briefs and alerts will stop
- Kognition's access to your Google Drive will be revoked
- Your data will be deleted from our systems within 30 days
Client Responsibilities
To receive the full benefit of Kognition, you agree to:
- Share accurate and up-to-date business data by uploading your daily CSV to your designated Google Drive folder
- Maintain your Google Drive account and ensure the shared folder remains accessible to hub@kognition.cloud
- Notify us promptly of any changes to your business structure, data format, or WhatsApp number
- Use the service only for your own business analysis, not for resale or redistribution
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the Kognition platform or its outputs
Service Levels & Uptime
We target delivery of the morning brief by 7:00 AM UAE time on each business day. Occasional delays may occur due to data sync timing, third-party service outages (Twilio, Google Drive API), or scheduled maintenance.
We will notify you via WhatsApp if a delivery is delayed by more than 2 hours. We do not guarantee 100% uptime but commit to resolving service disruptions as a priority.
Kognition is not responsible for delivery failures caused by:
- Your Google Drive folder being inaccessible or removed
- Data files not being uploaded on time
- Your WhatsApp number being unreachable
- WhatsApp service outages outside our control
Intellectual Property
Kognition owns: All software, algorithms, dashboards templates, report designs, methodologies, and platform architecture. These may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without written consent.
You own: All of your business data. All reports and briefs generated from your data and delivered to you. You may use, share, and distribute these outputs freely for your business purposes.
Kognition will never claim ownership of, or commercial rights to, your business data or the insights derived from it.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Kognition provides analytics and intelligence services to support your decision-making. Our reports, briefs, forecasts, and recommendations are based on the data you provide and statistical models.
We make no warranties — express or implied — regarding uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or the achievement of any specific business outcome.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under UAE law, Kognition's total liability for any claim arising from or related to this agreement shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
Kognition is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages including but not limited to lost revenue, lost profits, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep each other's confidential information private. Kognition will not disclose your business data or performance metrics to any third party without your written consent, except as required by law or as necessary to deliver the service (sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy).
Pro plan clients receive a full Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as part of their onboarding, which supersedes this section for matters of confidentiality.
Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, improve, or discontinue features of the Kognition platform. We will provide at least 14 days' notice via WhatsApp before removing any feature that is core to your subscribed plan.
Pricing changes will be communicated with a minimum of 30 days' notice and will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You have the right to cancel without penalty if you do not accept a price change.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from or relating to this agreement shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Abu Dhabi, UAE.
